Ritter Observing Team

From January 2014-August 2017, I was part of a team of undergraduate and graduate students working with the Ritter Observatory One-Meter Telescope at the University of Toledo. I was responsible, one night a week, for conducting observations, and training undergraduate and graduate students in the use of the telescope. We also taught the students how to pick targets and instructed them in skills such as data reduction.

Physics Recitation Sections

Physics 2130: Physics for Science and Engineering Majors I

From Fall 2016 to Spring 2019, I taught recitation sections of Physics I for physics and engineering students at the University of Toledo. This course is the first half of a yearlong calculus-based physics course that focuses on classical mechanics and thermodynamics. The recitation sections focus on problem solving and conceptual tutorials, to supplement the material covered in lecture.

Physics 2140: Physics for Science and Engineering Majors II

From Fall 2019 to Spring 2020, I taught recitation sections of Physics II for physics and engineering students at the University of Toledo. This course is the second half of a yearlong calculus-based physics course that focuses on classical electromagnetism and optics. The recitation sections focus on problem solving and conceptual tutorials, to supplement the material covered in lecture.

Lab Sections

Physics 2130: Physics for Science and Engineering Majors I

From Fall 2013-Fall 2014, I taught lab sections of Physics I for Science and Engineering majors. This course is the first half of a yearlong calculus-based physics course that focuses on classical mechanics and thermodynamics. In Fall 2014, I was also head TA for this course.

Physics 2140: Physics for Science and Engineering Majors II

From Spring 2015-Spring 2016, I taught lab sections of Physics II for Science and Engineering majors. This course is the second half of a yearlong calculus-based physics course that focuses on classical electromagnetism and optics. In Fall 2015 and Spring 2016, I was also head TA for this course.

Astronomy Recitation Sections

Ay I: The Evolving Universe

I taught special topics recitation sections for an introductory astronomy course at the California Institute of Technology. In Spring 2011, I covered Exoplanets and Planetary Habitability. In Spring 2012, I taught Order of Magnitude Physics, teaching the students to do back of the envelope physics calculations. As a vehicle for doing this, we looked at various ways of destroying the Earth.
