COURSE DESCRIPTION
Revolutionary discoveries made during the 20th century have
produced a dramatic paradigm shift in perceptions of our physical
universe. Unfortunately, the teaching of elementary science has
only inserted these discoveries piecemeal into the old 19th century
framework. An entirely new teaching strategy is needed to expose
the powerful insights that have been revealed. This special Honors
Section will address this problem, and present a conceptual,
non-mathematical restructuring of current knowledge that will
clarify, unify, and demystify the 21st century perceptions of
our universe. The course has no prerequisites, is a Natural
Sciences core course, and will be individualized to serve the
needs of diverse student backgrounds.
