Ranked FIRST in “1980 Nation-wide University Entrance Examination of China” in Jiangxi province among more than 100,000 competitors.

Received 2^nd Prize in Electronics Competition in 1983 at The University of Science and Technology of China.

Won CUSPEA (China-U.S. Physics Examination and Application) Candidacy/Recommendation, 1984.

Ranked in Group One, the top-ranking group, in the 1986 Ph.D. Qualifying Exam, Department of Physics, University of Chicago.

Listed in Marquis Who’s Who in America, 56^th Edition and Who's Who in America, Science and Engineering, 5^th Edition.

Awarded Dean’s Merit, College of Arts and Sciences, UT, 2001. Only 15 awards were given in 2001 in the A&S College which has 19 academic departments.

Received 2002 University of Toledo Outstanding Faculty Research Award.
