|
Reason for Change |
(1) The revised description of ENGL 4520 brings it in
line with the revised description of ENGL 4500. (2) The current course description for ENGL 4520 is
inaccurate because the writers mentioned do not necessarily comprise the bulk
of the course (although they are included) and outdated (because, for
instance, Victorian scholars have for some time considered Elizabeth Barrett
Browning to be as significant as her spouse; hence, the revised course
description eliminates the reference to "Browning" as if there were
only one). (3) Recent scholarship in the Victorian period has dramatically
increased the availability of a wide range of exciting Victorian texts; the
revised course description, which allows for greater flexibility overall,
better accommodates current anthologies and critical questions. |
