Catalog Description |
Major
freshwater invertebrate taxa are covered.
The focus is the interaction of individual invertebrates with their
biotic and abiotic environment with emphasis on community and ecosystem level
interactions. |

Syllabus |
|
|
Curriculum Fit |
This course will serve as
an elective course for upper division science majors. |
|
Similarity to Other Courses |
This
course does not duplicate material covered in another course. The material and perspective of this class
will differ substantially from that of Biol 4310, Biology of the
Invertebrates. The proposed course covers only invertebrates found in
freshwater habitats and focuses almost entirely on the ecological principles
guiding the interactions of individual invertebrates with other organisms and
their environment. Alternatively,
Biol 4310 provides a more thorough perspective on the taxonomy and individual
(i.e. within organism) biology of all invertebrates. |
