Course Title      Jazz Arranging and Composition I

Catalog Description    [3 hours] Scoring for contemporary jazz ensembles.  A study of jazz notations, voicing, orchestration, and composition for small jazz groups, and the rhythm section.  Prerequisite:  MUS 2620 and jazz performance experience.

 

Reason for change:     The change reflects the restructuring of the jazz degree, as part of the major studies and provides the necessary foundation to complete the large ensemble scoring in the class Jazz arranging and composition II.
