[1 hour] Provides instruction in Jazz Keyboard skills, including jazz techniques, voicings, repertoire, sight-reading and harmonization.  Prerequisite:  MUS 1570 or equivalent proficiency exam/Permission of instructor.

The course will be a required course in the restructured B.M. Jazz Emphasis degree in the Department of Music and Dance.  The expected skill level of the students will be a beginning level.  In its first offering, anticipated enrollment will be 10-15 students.  Within 5 years, expected enrollment will be 15-18 students.
