This course will be an
upper-level elective for major credit for Art History majors and will count towards
fulfilling the Art History requirement for Studio Art and Art Education
majors. It will also be open to, and
may appeal to non-Art majors. It may be
offered as a WAC course at the discretion of the instructor.

The proposed course would
fit between 2 other already existing Special Studies courses, ARTH 2980 and
ARTH 4980. The former is intended for
general, non-prerequisite, introductory-level courses; the latter for small,
seminar-type, limited-enrollment, highly specialized courses. The new course number is intended for
intermediate-level, specialized, one-time courses, taken with the instructor’s
consent, on topics that cross chronological, periods, and/or geographical
divisions.
